Debbie Doolittle visits P1

21st Mar 2018

Today was a very exciting day in P1, Debbie Doolittle came with her animals! All Debbie's animals have a story as to why they are with her, some of them are sad stories. She brought a ferret called mouse, Cookie the long haired rabbit, poor cookie wasn't being looked after very well he wasn't being fed or having his cage cleaned out! Crinkle the hedgehog is five years old, he got knocked down by a car. Debbie took him to the vet who gave him special cream to fix all the cuts and scrapes on his face unfortunately poor Crinkle is now blind and that's why he lives with Debbie. Crinkle is only prickly if he thinks he is in danger otherwise his spines aren't spikey. Spirit the owl came to visit as well, Spirit is a barn owl. She has very black eyes and a heart shaped face. Owls can turn their heads right round and when the fly you can't hear them, this is so they can hunt for food Witt being heard.  Linney the fox is a favourite, she thinks she is a cat or dog. Linney is with Debbie because she lost her mummy when she was a baby, she is now 10 but because she thinks she is a cat or a dog she couldn't go back to the wild! Linney is actually scared of foxes! We had lots of fun learning about the animals today and we know we should never touch a wild animal as it can scare them and they could then hurt us.
