What have P1 been up to?

22nd Mar 2018

We have been so busy since February half term. We have been using tree diagrams in numeracy, investigating long and short and heavy and light, making castles from 2D shapes, workingnin numbers to 9, making patterns and adding on 1! In Literacy we have finished all of our sounds and we are now reading and writing words ourselves. We are still working on our tricky words and using them to write super sentences. We have been learning all about night, we have a night cave for our role play were we get toast and mallows to roast over the fire. We have been learning about night animals and even had a visit from Debbie Doolittle. We loved exploring ice in the water tray. At the beginning of March we celebrated World Book Day and everyone got to dress up, as part of reading week a different teacher read to us every day after lunch and we went on a trip to the library! Our writing genre this term was narrative writing so we have written a story map as a class, after Easter we will go on an owl hunt around school and then we will be ready to write our own story maps. We have had so much fun in P1 and we cannot believe the Easter holidays are here already!
