December in P1 M

16th Dec 2016

It's hard to believe that our children have now completed a full term in Primary 1!  They have worked so hard during December even with the excitement of nativities and Santa.  They are now confident with their numbers to 5 can recognise cusienaire rods to 5 and make walls to 5.  The children are able to make and compare sets and many of the children are also able to form these numbers correctly.  In the midst of nativity rehearsals and performances we still managed to continue our sound work, we have now found out about 11 sounds and can't wait to do more when we come back.  Our role play became a Christmas house where we wrapped presents, made the dinner and got ready for Santa!  We had so much fun!  It was quite frosty some mornings so we put some ice into the water tray and we had to investigate it using our senses, it was hard, freezing, smooth and slippery!  We found some toys inside the ices, we used our warm hands and salt to help melt the ice so we could get them out.
