November P1M

4th Dec 2017

November was another really busy month in P1. We started learning all about our sounds and completed lots of activities to go along with them. We also kept working on our tricky words and completed a tricky word popcorn activity, we had to sort real and not real words. Our genre of writing for this half term is recount so we will be focusing on our weekend news, we started this by discussing what we did during playtime and outside at break, now we use the talking hoops to helps us tell our friends what we did at the weekend. In numeracy we have continued to work on numbers to 5! We have looked at how we can make four, made sets of our numbers and continued to work on forming them correctly. In November we completed our Can I Go to the Party investigation. We all get a ticket and Miss Morrison says if it get you into the party. Some of us were able to work out the ticket and change ours so we could go. Our topic is celebrations and we have been looking at birthdays so far. We had a party house in the rolemplay area and during world around us we looked at birthdays around the world. In Canada they put butter on their nose, in Denmark your 5th Birthday is your crown birthday. November was very busy and December promises to be even busier!
